The people behind the mission

Meet UR Team

Every person on this team has a reason to be here. We don't just work in this space — we live it.

Indy Sharma, Founder and Director of Programs

Indy Sharma

Founder & Director of Programs

Indy is a mother of two, a domestic violence survivor, and the founder of Wear Ur Scars — an organisation built from her own journey out of abuse and into a life of purpose.

For seven years, Indy lived through domestic violence. For five more, she fought coercive control through a system that wasn't built to make that fight easy.

There was a point where she had $3 left in her account — which for the first time made her realise how important financial independence truly was. She had no choice but to put the shield on — to work, to earn, and to spend half a million dollars on legal battles to break a cycle of abuse she was determined her children would never see as normal.

She didn't look back.

With 20 years of experience in HR and program management across IT and technology, Indy channelled everything she'd learned — professionally and personally — into building something bigger than her own survival. Wear Ur Scars exists to walk that same path with others: creating real pathways out of poverty and trauma for survivors through training, transition support, and technology.

Indy now shares her story not as a survivor looking backward, but as a founder looking forward — helping others move from surviving to thriving.
